Show off those photos!!

In a world of digital photography it's so easy to forget to make prints of those beautiful memories from your portrait session!! I am going to share 4 of my favorite ways to display my photos, and I promise, they are pretty easy!

#1 & 2
Photobucket

#1. I enlarged my favorite photo from my session with my boys earlier in the summer and hung it in a key area in my house, you see the photo right when you walk into our living room. I am a fan of bigger prints, just because they make more of a statement in your home, and really show off your wonderful portrait.
#2. I made a collage of assorted frames in colors that matched my bedroom decor, and put a mix of black and white and color photos in them to give interest and detail above my dresser.

#3. Above our bed I hung a very cohesive display of black frames with white matte to commemorate our engagement and wedding, with our kids photos. Every year I put a new photo in the kids frames as they get older, if you just leave the old photo in the frame when you put in the new one, by the time there 18 you'll have a photo to represent each year!! Kinda cool!

#4. Get a digital photo frame!! I LOVE mine and it is probably the best way to display all the pictures from your session for everyone to see. They are so easy to use, and since they have been on the market for several years now, its easy to get a nice inexpensive one. Lately I have had mine on a slideshow of my boys session.

See?! Easy! Make it fun, and enjoy your photos! I make it easy for you to print your photos wherever and whenever you like, with a copy write release to go with your sessions CD! E-mail me about booking a session and update your home with beautiful photos! Happy printing!!

Something personal

If it seems like there are soooo many photographers out there these days it's because, well, there are. And yes, it is VERY easy to get lost in the comparison game. I have been photographing people for 4 years now and every single year I have come closer and closer to where I want to be as a photographer, and yet I still have so much to learn. And that is good, I think constant growth is key in every area of life! Photography, as an art, has changed so much in the last several years, you can get a nice digital camera without breaking the bank. And, you can break a lot of "rules" in photography now, artist expression is all the rage:-) Personally I have changed my outlook in the last few years to narrow in on exactly what kind of photography I enjoy. Senior's and fashion/personal photography is becoming my key interest, with a few family sessions thrown in the mix. I love these types of shoots, and am so excited about what the future will hold. I have started branching out, trying to get my name out there a little, which can be scary. You just never know what someone will think! I recently submitted a few photos to a blog all about senior photography called seniorologie and was contacted about having my concept shoot featured on the blog!! I was so excited! If you missed it you can see it here. It's encouraging to see others enjoying my work. I love what I do, and am enjoying every second of this year. As a self-taught photographer I have learned more this year than all years previous by searching out some great, free, online websites! If you are a photographer just starting out and would like some great tools to turn to for futher learning here are my favorites!:
- Framed Network
- Professional Photographer
- Miller's Lab
- Michelle Moore
- Seniorologie

I wanted to share some of the concept shoot photos on my blog, because I haven't yet:-) and give a huge thank you to Michelle, my model, for being awesome and helping me with this project! If you missed her senior photos on the blog you can see those here! I am looking forward to a few more awesome concept shoots before the summer is over!
